About
I'm an investor and the head of AI at Geffen Ventures, a single family office in Chicago. I manage an internationally diversified public-market portfolio, lead 15 venture investments spanning early-stage and late-stage secondaries, and underwrite real estate. In parallel, I built and operate the firm's AI infrastructure as its sole engineer and architect: 20+ custom multi-agent systems used across sourcing, diligence, portfolio monitoring, and live news/event analysis.
My AI work in finance predates the LLM era. At Thunder, the venture investment bank where I previously worked, I helped train the firm's pre-ChatGPT proprietary in-house ML matching engine alongside the PhD AI cofounder — hands-on data labeling and curation when this kind of work was much less common in finance. I've carried that posture forward: every AI system at Geffen is custom-built, owned in-house, and shaped around the specific judgment problems an investor actually faces.
Outside investing, I hold rabbinical ordination from RIETS and serve as a Jewish community educator and frequent guest speaker — recently at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign with JET, and host regular Shabbos meals in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood for J-Life.

For private equity targets, parallel agents handle market analysis, financial underwriting, and management screening simultaneously. Cut typical diligence cycle from 30+ hours to 5–6 hours per deal.
Live Portfolio Monitoring
Agents ingest news feeds and market data from Goldman Sachs, Yahoo Finance, and third-party news APIs to flag real-time events affecting portfolio holdings. Downstream agents generate scenario analyses and route alerts via Microsoft Graph.
Hybrid Inference Architecture
Custom Python application hosted on DigitalOcean and version-controlled on GitHub. Select pipelines run on locally-hosted open-weight models for cost and data control on sensitive deal data.
