K-1 vs QUICKBOOKS INCOME — RECEIVED vs POSTED

K-1 vs QuickBooks Income — income
all entities · printed

A K-1 arriving does not book itself. The pickup — Dr/Cr <Investment>:Cumulative Income against K-1 Income — is typed once a year per investment, and QuickBooks has no way to know one is owed. This crosses the two halves: the tracker knows which documents arrived, QuickBooks knows which years were booked. A cell is flagged only when a K-1 was received and no Cumulative Income posting followed — never on a document that has not arrived, and never on a 1099 (those post as cash moves, not as an equity-method pickup).

Typing in the box above filters the rows already on screen as you type; press Search to re-query the whole book. Click a column heading for Excel-style sort and per-value filters, drag a heading to move a column, drag its right edge to resize it (double-click that edge to fit). Click any cell with a K-1 behind it to read the document beside what QuickBooks posted.
📘 To post K-1 income to QuickBooks, pick a single investing entity from the dropdown above — the Book … to QuickBooks button appears right here. (A journal entry posts to one entity's Location.)

Income. A ✓ and an amount is a booked year: the amount is the year's net Cumulative Income posting as QuickBooks holds it — negative is a loss — and the K-1 that opens when you click the cell is what it should be supported by. — means no K-1 was received for that year, so nothing is owed: the position may have been exited, the K-1 may still be outstanding, or the year may predate the investment. Outstanding documents are the K-1 / Docs tracker's job, not this page's. The Booked column counts the row's booked years against the years that owe an entry; a $0 K-1 owes none and is in neither number. nil pickup marks a K-1 whose taxable and non-taxable income cancel: the entry still has to be posted, but it carries no Cumulative Income leg — it is Dr K-1 Non-Taxable / Cr K-1 Taxable and the carrying value does not move. Outstanding like any other, just a different shape.

* marks a row whose investing entity is not one of the 13 QuickBooks Locations (it is held through one that is), so the check reads the whole account instead of that entity's own postings. Every other row is scoped to its entity — which matters because 71 Cumulative Income accounts are shared by two holders, and without scoping one holder's entry would cover for the other's missing one.
